Lewis County is currently updating its Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan. The county, its communities, and the many local agencies and organizations with a stake in hazard mitigation have formed a planning team to complete the required 5-year update as part of a FEMA-funded Pre-Disaster Mitigation grant through the Idaho Office of Emergency Management and the University of Idaho.
The plan update will comprehensively revise the former plan, and include state-of-the-science risk analyses and vulnerability assessments. The update process will focus on the mitigation strategy--what actions have been completed or implemented in the county, what actions remain to be completed, and the incorporation of new and additional actions.
Lewis County is seeking public review and comments on the draft Hazard Mitigation Plan update.
