Emergency Management

Lewis County , with the help from its communities, local agencies and organizations with a stake in hazard mitigation recently updated its Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan. The final version of the PLAN has been completed and ready to view. The planning team completed the required 5-year update as part of a FEMA-funded Pre-Disaster Mitigation grant through the Idaho Office of Emergency Management and the University of Idaho.

The plan review and update comprehensively revised the former plan, and includes state-of-the-science risk analyses and vulnerability assessments. The update process focused on the mitigation strategy--what actions have been completed or implemented in the county, what actions remain to be completed, and the incorporation of new and additional actions.
