Emergency Management

Lewis County is updating its Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan. The county, its communities, and the many local agencies and organizations with a stake in hazard mitigation have formed a planning team to complete the required 5-year update as part of a FEMA-funded Pre-Disaster Mitigation grant through the Idaho Office of Emergency Management and the University of Idaho.

The plan update will comprehensively revise the former plan, and include state-of-the-science risk analyses and vulnerability assessments. The update process will focus on the mitigation strategy--what actions have been completed or implemented in the county, what actions remain to be completed, and the incorporation of new and additional actions.
